me and my list

hmmm.. been 1.5 months since i've updated..... hey.. i've been a very very busy mummy k... been a busy wife too.. cooking.. cleaning... ironing....and now...clearing work for school [i know i know... very last minute!] all i know that i will miss eshaan loads and loads when i get back to work... i will miss him calling me, "Mama...mama...look!" [him trying to get my attention] or our daily breakfast routine of feeding each other with biscuits... or him getting excited when his mama says, "Shaan.. go get your shoes!" I will miss my son.....

this has been a very good holiday... went for a short trip... went for loads and loads of shopping sprees [right hubby????]... cousin got engaged and another got married [Nura- Welcome to the club!] and basically able to fulfil my duties well...

school will be starting and i'm having mixed feelings... a little excited and a little nervous... everything will be new... feeling like a fresh grad just out to join the work force... if u didn't know... i left my previous school to join another... needing a new environment... and hopefully having new friends... i joined them for the meetings last month... met new friends and hopefully more to come... very nervous..... seriously nervous...

as the year comes to an end... i believe it allows me to change and try to be a better person. i'll be a year older too... [that sucks!] this year been good [Alhamdullilah] and i plan to make things better...

my 2009 wish-list:

1. LOSE WEIGHT [lol. i guess this is in almost everyone's new year's resolution... but this time i desperately serious.... i need this especially after this holidays....]

2. Get Eshaan to school [found the suitable school for him... he will be attending the school in July when he turns 30 months]

3. Help hubby to achieve his dream....

4. Save money to build a new wardrobe... [ yup.. need that after all the shopping sprees me and hubby had gone to... can u believe that i bought 8 pairs of shoes and 4 bags??????? i'm a happy girl.]

5. Get my D60 [will get that veryvery soon... yeah!]

6. Get Hari Raya things ready way before and not rush like mad.... [yup.. we almost went crazy]

7. STOP CUTTING HAIR! [i keep saying this.... but guess what i just cut my hair- just a little short... i must stop doing so...]

8. BE A GREAT TEACHER. [In GOD'S will]

looking back in 2008... i realised that i watched more Hindi movie than English ones... why??? ASK Mohd Ezaad... he is generally more happy when we plan to watch a Hindi flick than an English one.. and sometimes i feel that it's more worth it to watch a Hindi movie which lasts for 3hrs.. and the price of the tix is the same as an English movie which lasts for 1.5hrs....

so i can't make a list of my favourite English movies as i will not have enough to make a top 10 list for it... so here is my TOP 10 HINDI MOVIE...[pls take note: THIS IS MY LIST... SO IT'S MY FAV MOVIES... no comparisons to other lists]

TOP 10 HINDI MOVIES IN 2008

10. RACE - a multi starrer... a triller... made by the makers of HUMRAAZ... i just love it.

9. JODHAA AKBAR - an epic movie starring Hritrik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan... love story + war = good combi? but Hritrik looks HOT!!!

8. SARKAR RAJ - Bachchans galore... i looked at Aishwarya differently... she could act if she wanted to...

7. RAB NE BANA DI JODI - i can hear my sissy-in-law screaming..."Julie... what this is at 7?? " lol.. Datuk Shah Rukh... he is the king of bolloywood and i salute him in doing a role like that... but the story needs more weight...

6. KISMAT KONNECTION - i don't have to say it... SHAHID... HOT.period.

5. GOLMAAL RETURNS - i laughed myself silly in the cinema. stoopid movie.. stoopid story line... my it is SOOOOOO entertaining.... love it!

4. GHAJINI - just caught this movie.... a translated version... Great story...

3. BACHNA AE HASEENO - love the story line... love the songs... been a long time since i watched a masala movie

2. SINGH IS KINNG - Akshay Kumar. one hit after another. he is so lucky to get good movies and good songs and this movie had Katrina Kaif... she is one pretty girl...

and my top movie of the year is.........

1. DOSTANA - don't have to explain.. read my review!

been a while since a great Hindi movie comes to the big screen... yes, they produce lots and lots of movies a year but i guess they emphasize on Quantity rather than Quality... anyway.. ever since Eid, the number of good / great Hindi movies are countable.

2 weeks ago, i went to catch 'Golmaal Returns'. It was a no-brainer movie. u don't have to think a whole lot and it is still very entertaining. being at the theatre, i saw several other posters of up and coming movies and apart from the one Shah Rukh will be starring in... there was another in which had Abhishek, John and Priyanka.

DOSTANA

Released by Dharma Productions... it simply means that they are the ones who produced films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, K3G and Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna.. and etc... its like one of those movies that it has to be a MUST-WATCH! Dharma Productions are known to come out with wonderful films and entertaining ones..

The story: I heard and read so many versions of the story.. some websites said that it's a Hindi version of Brokeback Mountain... i was like hmmm.... Some said that it was about two guys fighting over one girl.... so i shall not be a spoiler.. what i can say is that the story is fabulous. with two hot guys... what can u ask for more? all i can say.. it is all about friendship and it's not fully Brokeback Mountain... but some sort like that gaining it a NC-16 rating!

Abhishek Bachchan: One of the main man. Mine. My man. having him on the poster, it's already confirmed that i'm going to watch the film. something about talk-dark-and-handsome guys that i love. Sam (AB's character) a hot nurse that got involved with his friend...

John Abraham: I love when he dances. The last movie in which he began dancing in was Garam Masala. He was sizzling hot. So when i get to see him dance again.. it's like woooowwwww...

Superb chemistry between these 2 actors from their days of Dhoom...

Priyanka Chopra: Not my favourite actress... never.. don't like her.. maybe it's because she's my age and that she already achieved Miss World status and that she has been with most of the men i adore...-sigh- but for her role, all i can say that i guess other actress can also do her role.. all they need is a hot body...

Shilpa Shetty (Item Number girl) : this girl has really grown and i always wonder... did she make her nose?

Bobby Deol: What can i say? my first love.. he is just so charming... nevermind that he can't dance as well as Abhishek or Shahid... but i guess he is just charming...

ok... having Abhishek and Bobby on one screen... i don't need any other reasons to watch this movie.

happy. very happy.

hubby allowed me to get only one item. either the Canon 1000D or the Macbook. I chose the latter.
